Using Story Nest

Terms of service

These terms form an agreement between the adult account holder and Signpost Digital Ltd, operating the Story Nest service in the United Kingdom. Contact [email protected] with questions.

Adult account holder

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract to create an account, buy a subscription or provide child-profile information. You are responsible for deciding what information is appropriate to provide, supervising a child’s use and keeping account access secure.

The service

Story Nest creates AI-assisted personalised bedtime stories using the preferences supplied by a parent or carer. Automated safety controls reduce risk but cannot guarantee that every generated sentence will be suitable for every family. An adult should review stories and use the feedback and revision controls where needed. Story Nest is entertainment, not medical, educational, religious, legal or professional advice.

Subscriptions and billing

Prices, billing period and included features are shown before purchase. Apple in-app subscriptions are charged to the Apple Account and renew automatically unless cancelled through Apple. Website subscriptions are processed by Stripe and managed through the customer portal. Cancellation stops future renewal as described by the payment provider; it does not automatically delete the family’s data. Deleting an account does not by itself cancel an Apple subscription.

Already-saved stories remain readable in the app if a paid entitlement ends, subject to having retained a local copy. New story creation and paid features may then be limited. Statutory cancellation and refund rights are not affected; Apple handles App Store refunds and Story Nest handles eligible website billing issues.

Acceptable use

Do not submit unlawful, abusive, sexual, violent or exploitative material; personal information you are not authorised to use; instructions intended to bypass safety controls; or copyrighted characters and text you do not have rights to use. Do not probe, overload, scrape or interfere with the service. We may block generation or suspend access where reasonably necessary for safety, security or legal compliance.

Your content and generated stories

You retain rights in information you provide. You give Story Nest permission to process it only as needed to operate and improve the requested service, protect families and comply with law. AI outputs can resemble existing ideas by coincidence and may not be unique or eligible for intellectual-property protection. Do not represent generated material as professional advice or use it to infringe another person’s rights.

Availability and changes

We aim to provide a reliable bedtime service, but online generation, email delivery and sync may occasionally be delayed or unavailable. New story creation requires the live Story Nest service; stories already saved or downloaded in the app remain readable offline. We may improve or replace features and will give reasonable notice of material changes to paid service where practicable.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Otherwise, to the extent permitted by law, Story Nest is not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable loss. Your mandatory consumer rights remain in force.

Ending the agreement

You may stop using Story Nest at any time, cancel the relevant subscription and delete account data using the available controls. We may terminate access for serious or repeated breach, unlawful use, safety risk or non-payment, with notice where appropriate.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the United Kingdom without removing any mandatory rights you have under the law of the country where you live. UK consumers may bring proceedings in the courts available under applicable consumer law.
